    Default Electric Baseboard heaters

My wife and I built our home in 1985. All of our original baseboards heaters remain working except the heaters downstairs. One heater is in our 4th bedroom and other is in our basement area adjacent to the bedroom. There is also a small heater behind the door to the garage. none of the heaters are working. I put in new thermostates a couple of years ago but that resulted in no working either. We currently have a wood stove to help heat our downstairs area. What can i do to find out what the problem is?

You didn't say what type of heater.
If they are electric then check the breaker? Could be the heaters are defective. and need replacement.

Heater type was in the subject line -- electric baseboards.

You need a volt meter to see if you have power that the thermostat, and power coming from the thermostat to the heater. Look at the circuit breaker(s) for these heaters to see if they are 240V or 120V. That will be the voltage you look for.

OOPS I forgot to mention they are electric. When i turn the thermostat on i feel and hear a click. The breakers do not trip.
