    Default carbon monoxide alarm

Can a charging battery set off a CO alarm.
We had a power outage last night and brought a deep cycle battery inside to run a 12 light. Today I put the charger on the battery and CO alarm started beeping. The battery was within 3 feet of the alarm. I moved the alarm 10 feet away and all was well.
Would I be correct in assuming the hydrogen off gas from the battery could have set off the CO alarm.

The charger is off and no more alerts so it must have been that.

How old is the alarm? They have a limited life just like a smoke alarm. If it's more than 7 years old or has no date on it, it may be getting close (or at) time to replace it.

It is over 10 years old. I will replace it.
It did stop beeping when I stopped charging the battery.
