    Default Shifters and pumps

    Amana washer
    Model : NTW4705EW0
When the shifter goes bad on this type washer, can it be connected a pump going bad? Can a pump going bad cause the lid switch to go bad by pulling to much amperage like frontload washers with the wax motor door switches?

    Hey Rick.

Not normally, but it is possible. Most shifters we have been seeing just stop counting the turns of the drum. Most pumps we see have crap caught in them or they get noisy.

I have not seen any damage the lid switch....sorry.

The wax motor would damage the electronic board.
