    Default Whirlpool WRT348FMES00 Refrigerator Diagnostics

    Whirlpool WRT348FMES00 Refrigerator Diagnostics

Parts List (Whirlpool Refrigerator Parts (WRT348FMES).pdf - Google Drive)

Tech Sheet (Whirlpool Refrigerator Tech Sheet W10872127.pdf - Google Drive)

PROBLEM: Can not get this unit to enter Service Diagnostics Mode per the Tech Sheet. Please see video (diagnostic.mp4 - Google Drive). (Please note that for some reason this video will not play directly in Google Chrome, you will need to download it first.)

Sought diagnostics mode to troubleshoot issue of food freezing in RC.

I have contacted Whirlpool with all the above information. Their response: 'We apologize that we do not have a technical department that could assist with your question'.

I have consulted with technicians on other appliance repair forums.

I have replaced the RC thermistor (although resistance vs. temperature measures of the original and new part proved to be the same). I have also replaced the Control Box per Service Pointer W10902061 (Service Pointer - W10902061.pdf - Google Drive).

None of these efforts have solved the original problem: the unit will not enter Service Diagnostics Mode.

    So I have two questions:

    * Has anyone actually ever got one of these units into diagnostics mode?
    * Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

    ?RC?
    Fresh food section?
How big of an area will freeze? Taken any temp readings of both sections? If yes, post them here.

Looked over the tech sheet and parts breakdowns...only things I can see for temp is thermistor, air damper and pcboard. Only 1 of these could stop you from entering the test mode....the pcboard.

    Did you check both thermistors?

If bad enough to prevent you from entering the test mode it may also be the trouble maker for your freezing issues.

I don't know how much the whole refrigerator costs to purchase but th board appears to be overly priced....JMO!

Nice thing is if this part does not repair your issue it can be sent back for a full refund ( minus shipping ) when ordered from RC.
