Default Help! GE fridge/freezer combo freezer line punctured

I need quick answers to a fridge problem. My 4 year old fridge has a punctured freezer line. I know that is the issue. My urgent questions are, can this be repaired? Is it expensive to repair it if so? And, is this linked to the fridge as well or is just the freezer affected? I assume I can't plug in, but we can't reach anyone on a Saturday. We paid $150 for this fridge so do not intend to spend a fortune on repairs. Please help!!!

    Hi,

    can this be repaired?
Yes. With today's laws we likely would have to replace what ever was damaged.

Is it expensive to repair it if so?
Yes. A guess would be approx $150-$300 for labour and with parts would be more.

And, is this linked to the fridge as well or is just the freezer affected?
    It will effect both sections.

    I assume I can't plug in
It is best not to run the refrigerator for sure!

Hmm. I only paid $150 for this fridge. Seems like a waste to spend $300 fixing it. Would a trade in store for used appliances give this any value at all? Even $75 to get rid of it?

    Not much....if anything
They might even want to charge to remove it.
