    Default Kenmore lidlock

    Kenmore
    Model 110.27152600
Noticed there is a gap in the lid of this washer where I would expect an actuator if some sort for the lidlock.
Can't find info on what type. Is it just a magnetic activator that presses against the lidlock piece on the cabinet?
This lidlock is actually a first for me of this type.

Washer lid lock. Be aware the manufacturer has updated the part and it is now white and clips into the main top without mounting screws. If the washing machine does not spin the lid lock may be defective.
The manufacturer has replaced part number W10059230 with this item, part number WPW10619844.

As far as I know it is an magnetic lock. Have not seen many of these at all.

Can a magnet be used for checking purposes to activate the lidlock? Or, does it just need something pressed against it?
