Default GE Profile comes on and off on it's own

My understanding is this machine runs a little and shuts off. It will then come back on it's own. I am told a lint light comes on .
I have not gotten into it yet. I normally think motor overload or something of that nature or the board. Is it possible the lint light is an indication it has a blockage somewhere?

Don't know much about this dryer, have not seen one before....but like you mentioned, even if the dryer was shutting off on the motor safety or safety thermostat, it shouldn't come back on on it's own. More and more sounds like something is stuck/welded closed and more like a board issue

Update: Here is what I think was happening. I ran the dryer with no clothes in it. It would run a little and quit. Never noticed it coming back on. The "Clean Filter" light would come on.
To make a long story short (can you believe that?), I decided to put a load of jeans in it after letting then them rinse and spin. Logic being maybe the "Clean Filter" light was a reminder to clean the filter with each and every use. That and sensors may have been shutting it down (advancing the timing) when it got to certain temps with no load in it.
Seems to work okay with a load in it. And yes, the clean filter light does come on at the beginning of each load.

Doing this in the Timed cycle was throwing me off.

Usually only an auto or electronic cycle would shut off quickly with no clothes inside....but with all the newer appliances having so much electronics in them now, even the timed cycles can do that. This can/will confuse many people!!
