    Default Intermitten water discharge

    Maytag Washer
    Model - MAV7600aww

Sometimes this machine seems to miss pumping the water out. That being said, the timer does have a buzz in it. The old pump was making a racket . I replaced it for testing puposes with another used one thought to be good.

I had this plugged into a long extion cord and thought maybe th emotor was getting hot and shutting down. I now have it plugged directly to an outlet I think it still did it last night.

I suspect the timer. I pulled the front off, but can't really tell if the pump is turning when in spin. This machine spins as it is supposed to be pumping water out. Is that what it is supposed to do?

Should spin and drain at the same time.

How?...or what happens instead?....keeps agitating instead?

I think I have found the problem. There was some rust in the bottom, and the motor did not seem to be sliding back enough to work the pump. I sprayed some Blaster down and around it and worked it back and forth by hand a few times. It worked the next time I tried it. I intend to remove the motor and do some more cleaning and checking.

I will check it a few more times to make sure the motor is not quitting for some reason like maybe getting hot and intermitteningly shutting off.

PS Sorry about getting the titles mixed up.

A little lube on the motor movements is a good idea.

Back to the drawing board. This thing skipped the rinse cycle. I worked the timer connection a little thinking it may have some buildup of some sort from sitting. It did the rinse cycle once, but it started raining so I had to put inside the shop. Think I iwll end up scrapping this one.

Timer and or control is bad is bad I'm thinking

What did it do?....keep agitating?...if yes, possible timer issue for sure.

Yep, it agitates right on through, unless I either push the knob in and pull it back our ot turn all the way around and set it on Rinse. I know it at least sometimes does the second rinse. Not sure it does it everytime. I removed the timer to see if I could take it apart and look at the contacts. No luck, it looks like it is not designed to be disassembled without breaking the plast like tabs. Scrapper if I do not find or have a timer. So far no luck there either. Really already spent too much time and effort on it. But, sometimes I take it as a learning experience and do that. Thanks a bunch Jeff.
