Default Maytag Stove Burners will not ignite

    Hi,

My stove will not ignite the burners. When you turn the knob to the 'lite' position I do not hear the expected "click click click" of the spark ignition/module.

Should this be my first suspect? Maytag-Stove-burner-won-t-light-PGR4410CDW

    Stove: Maytag
    Model: PGR4410CDW

And at $97.00 it's still cheaper than a new stove.

    Hi,

Under each knob is a switch, when you turn the knob to lite the switch closes and sends 120 volts to the spark module. The spark module creates the spark for the electrodes.
If the spark module is getting 120 volts AC across L and N but no sparking is happening = new spark module time.
If we have no 120 volts AC across L and N we must look else where.

Thank you for the information, Jeff. I failed to mention in my first post that the condition I mentioned affect all 4 burner knobs. This is why I jumped to the conclusion of the spark module going bad. I will check this with a VOM meter later and report back my findings.

This morning it started working again.
Is this normal for the module to start intermittent operation before complete failure?

Some will work and then not work....some will work but not spark then all of a sudden spark.

Idealy of course to check things when the problem is occuring.
