    Default Oven light stays on

    Frigidaire Stove
    Model - FEF3168S0
    Serial - VF50910939

Mickey, my son, sold this stove today. He gets a call that the oven power(Red) light is staying on. It is a coil top possibly only a year old. Would this be normal for this stove until it cooled off?

Other than that, I gave a little advice as to what and how I would check it at the oven element terminals for power with the switch off. Guess I could just have told him to kill the power and ohm the leads with one pulled off at ech element.

    Thanks

The only thing in the light circuit is the oven control ( on the model# I picked - FEF316BSD )...

Nope, the light should go out as soon as the oven is shut off.

    It is a B

He called and said he ran a screw out a little on the switch until it clicked and the light went out. Calibration screw?

    Thanks

Oven temps should be checked....could be out a little, a lot, a ton....I doubt it is alright.

My thoughts on the matter too. But, I was thinking the temps might be off a little, they will learn to cook on it. I have heard my wife talk about different stoves being a little different to cook on...I think.

I wish I had thought to tell him to at least put something on the screw to lock in place. Fingernail polish or something. Maybe a dab of loc-tite.

I 100% agree....many/most of use would not even be able to tell is the oven temp was off 5, 10, 20 degrees.
