Default Kitchen Aid Dishwasher doesn't wash

    Hi,

I have a Kitchen aid Dishwasher:
    model: KUDM01TJWH1
    serial: FM2906513

It fills with water and then just hums. Won't do anything else. Drains fine when I cancel the wash.

I was going to try to spin the fan as was suggested in the help section but that was for different brands so I wasn't sure. Leading up to this it was making a rather unpleasant grinding sound. I'm afraid it's the pump.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.
    Chris

Normally we would check the motor capacitor and make sure the motor is not just jammed up....but since you mentioned it has been making some "unpleasant grinding sounds" before it quit = the wash motor is likely going to need to be replaced...
