    Default whirlpool/kenmore transmission bolts

    Hi Jeff.
On these transmissions with the 3 bolts, how important is it to have all 3 bolts securing the transmission to the washer. A friend brought one over for me to look at. The agitator was down against the bottom of the basket/tub. I assumed the motor and transmission was dropped for some reason. As it turned out, all 3 bolts were gone. I adjusted the brake and clutch so I could get everything back in position to reinstall the bolts. This is when I noticed one of the bolts was broken off. Not having an easy out to remove the broken bolt and not really wanting to pull everything back out if not necessary, I just put two bolts back in.

Thought I might take the two back out and use some lock-tite. Think that will do it? Or, do you think someone broke the 3rd bolt and that allowed the other two to work loose and the problem will be repeated?

    Thanks

    Important...but not critical.

I would for sure. A little blue lock-tite should help.

    Chances are that did happen

Don't hate it sometimes when you ask a question and you already sorta know the answer. Sometimes we just wanna be wrong!

    Thanks Jeff
