Default GE Monogram Fridge Water Dispenser Heater install?

Have a GE Monogram ZISS420DRSS 42" built-in side-by-side refrigerator (it's about 10 years old). Like many such models, the water dispenser has started freezing frequently. I've confirmed it's happening in the water line right behind the dispenser itself and have temporary remedies (like putting weed whacker line up the tube so I can pull out the ice when it forms, using hairdryer to warm the tube, etc.).

Was wondering if anyone knows if GE WR49X10173 heater works on this model, and if so, can assist with instructions on how I can install (looks like I'd have to remove the stainless steel door shell to get the dispenser open, etc.)?

    Thanks greatly!

Thanks... Figured out how to take the door apart (don't need to take off handle cause it's only attached to the stainless steel case, surprisingly). Now, can't figure out what to splice the heater kit to for power (tried pin 2 and 6 as suggested, but the wiring is slightly different than the instructions state), and as a result can't get it to heat up.

    Any thoughts here? Thanks!!!

Post the wire diagram from your refrigerator here so we can have a peek.

Thanks so much for continued assist. Enclosed are the wiring diagram I found online (which matches what the heater install instructions claim - splice into Red@J42 and B/W@J46. That said, if you look at the picture of my panel, there is Red@J42 and a thinner brown@J42 and then Red@J46. J45 is empty, none of the other colored cables match, etc. All different from diagram. I tried splicing into Red@J42 and Red@J46 (pretty sure I got good splice) and the heater didn't warm.

    Any thoughts?

    Didn't find your refrigerator diagram?

That diagram shows an existing heater...if there is no heater already installed on the ice duct door, attach heater wires to the red wire on pin 2 and black wire on pin 6 as shown in the figure at right below. If there is an ice duct door heater kit
installed, the instructions for the kit specify a different method that must be used to properly attach the heater.

This is the problem. I have no heater installed, but pin 2 is red (and with a separate brown cable too), and pin 6 is red as well... Attaching to pin 2 and 6 didn't seem to power it. Any thoughts? Is there a place I can get a more accurate wiring diagram?
