    Default Wash plate

    Model - 110.21302010
Is the wash plate supposed to spin independent of the basket?
This thing was throwing an F7 E5 error code

I also thought it had shown an F7 E1 code at one time. I did the tests and things looked good. I decided to change the shifter anyway since I uspected the sensor was bad. It now seems to do what it is supposed to do, but it is noisy in spin. It also spins as part of the wash cycle while the Wash LED is lit. I am thinking this is the way it is supposed to do before it actually gets to the final Rinse and Spin?

Anyway, the reason I ask about the wash plate is the noise the washer makes while in spin and the fact that I have another with a wash plate Model MVWC450XW3. In this one the wash plate spins freely without the basket spinning.

Wondering if this has something to do with the noise on the first one.

It had been used at a lake house and I wonder if maybe it sat for periods of time in a damp location and maybe has a bearing problem.
I'm thinking this is one of those case where there is no bearing to replace. Propably takes a whole transmission.

Not sure I 100% understand your question....but I will say yes.

    F7E5 – SHIFTER FAULT
Fault is displayed when the main control cannot determine position of shifter.
    • Check harness connections from main control to motor and shifter.
    • Observe shifter operation.
    • See TEST #3a: Drive System–Shifter, page 13.

F7E1 – BASKET SPEED SENSOR FAULT
Fault is displayed when the main control cannot determine speed of basket, or speed changes too quickly.
    • Locked rotor—check that basket, impeller, and motor can rotate freely.
    • Check harness connections from main control to motor and shifter.
    • See TEST #3a: Drive System–Shifter, page 13

but it is noisy in spin
    Bearings likely

Did a couple where the tub seal was leaking into the tranny/gearbox and the washer was loud on spin...

So I was right in thinking there is no bearing kit, only a complete transmission for this problem.

I did think it was strange how one of the plates would spin freely, but the other would not. The noisey one is the one that has the plate that will not turn by itself. Have 2 or 3 of these junkers..er machines. Maybe I can come up with a transmission.

There are different styles to these HE top load washers.
