Default HE washer Flashing lid lock light

On a HE washer, when it senses then the lid lock light starts flashing , and it does nothing, what does it indicate? Lid switch or something to do with that particular function?

P.S. I think maybe I found a an article that explains how to interpret these flashing lights on this type of washer without the little display window that flashes the error codes.

At this point, I assume the answer to my question is the flashing lid lock light indicates there is a problem with something, not necessarily with just the lid lock.

Man! These things made in China? Is the manual printed in China? Page 6 tells you to go to page 12. Page 12 tells you to go to page 8 test 2. Page 8, test 2 says go to page.......

    Nope.

Probably translated from Chinese or Koreon into English.

Try the recallibration mode first and then see what happens.

I think I did that. I'll have to do it again. Can't remember what it did at the moment. In diagnostic mode, it seemed to everything it was supposed to do. I really suspect the lidlock/switch. I may pull it back out again and play with it. Then again, might not. This one is not mine, but I have two Centennials, and I really need to learn something on these things.
    Manuals seem to be identical.
