    Default DIshwasher leaking

I have a Whirlpool Gold Series Model GU1500.
The unit is overflowing and it was not put through a cycle. Water was coming in from the water inlet half way up the tub. We have had a few days of extreme cold and wind and I was wondering if this was possibly exposed to cold and maybe froze. Is the inlet a valve?

Also the overflow cap in the bottom corner is moving up and down but I assume that would not drain unless in a cleaning/rinse cycle.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hi,

    GU1500
That is part of a full model#. The rest is? 20 models start with those digits.

Over flowing during the cycle or when not in use?
Will the water drain out if you set a drain mode?

When not in use? If yes, the fill valve is not 100% closing and is weeping in some water all of the time = new fill valve time.

    Is the inlet a valve?
Inlet hose is not, fill valve is a mechanical/electrical valve.

Also the overflow cap in the bottom corner is moving up and down but I assume that would not drain unless in a cleaning/rinse cycle.
The float and float switch are electrical and will stop the power to the fill valve during a cycle....the valve can mechanically stick open and weep water in without any electricity.
