    Default Timer points

A family friend of mine (as long as I can remember from childhood) had a bad dryer timer. I did not have one for that particular dryer. He goes to anothe rguy with this problem. The guy tells him he can put points in it. He has the points on order.

I know the other guy, and know he normally has another guy "rebuild" timers for him.

My question is, can you order points for a dryer timer?

I might be wrong, it might be a washer, which I have reshaped points with solder.

As far as I know, most things today you cannot get the point seperate.....some timer repair places -may- be able to but for most like us, no we cannot.

So they can be bought seperately? I'm thinking this is a Whirpool made appliance, not sure.

Most come up as NLA now....but 30-35 years ago we could buy them.

I don't think this one is anywhere near that old.

I am anxious to see how this turns out. I think the guy will either have the other guy work on the timer or wait until he gets one that can be used on it.

Sounds more like waiting for another used timer for parts or to put the two of them together to make one....JMO!
